Dominik Sachsenheimer is a proven business leader and strategist across various industries and continents who has been heading up Maven Group as the company’s president and majority shareholder since 2017. Maven Group has quickly developed into the leading mergers & acquisitions advisor for independent elevator companies in the United States and Canada. Maven Group’s clients combine for annual revenues well above $300,000,000. Maven Group usually represents sellers but the firm also performs buy side advisory work for select projects.
Although most of Maven Group’s clients operate in the commercial elevator installation and service market, Dominik has also represented suppliers and manufacturers as well as service companies in the industrial space and the ever-growing residential segment. Dominik is a frequent speaker at industry events and trade shows such as NAEC Conventions in the United States or INTERLIFT in Germany and he occasionally contributes to publications such as “Elevator World” which recognized him as one of 25 “people of the year” in 2020.
Prior to running Maven Group, Dominik gained 10 years of experience at the Otis Elevator Company from 2006 to 2016. During this time, he served as Director of Mergers & Acquisitions for North America since 2013 and not only successfully negotiated and closed a wide variety of deals but also coordinated the sensitive post-closing integration period to ensure a smooth transition for employees and customers of the acquired company. After jumpstarting his career at Otis at the birth place of the elevator industry in New York City, Dominik was promoted to Regional Finance Manager for Otis’s Midwest operation based in Chicago. He later directed the entire finance organization of Otis’s Southern Region spanning across 16 states and various Caribbean islands. During those assignments, he coordinated the financial integration of several acquired companies.
Dominik obtained his MBA from Berufsakademie Loerrach in Southern Germany and started his career with one of the largest global logistics companies headquartered in Switzerland. After various roles managing complex intercontinental transportation projects, he became assistant comptroller for the company’s Swiss operation. Attracted by the entrepreneurial challenge, he moved back to his native city of Freiburg, Germany to head the internationally renowned “Zelt Musik Festival” which hosts over 50 concerts attracting 200,000 visitors annually. During this time, he also provided operational and financial consulting for various cultural organizations and start-ups in addition to serving as a guest lecturer for undergraduate students at “Institut fuer Sprachen und Wirtschaft”, a local college and business school.
